Considering everyone from housewives to hoarders has a reality series in their honor, you have to wonder what took so long for someone to come up with a show based around swingers. Thankfully, that discrepancy has been corrected: Lionsgate is producing a new reality series called Bedroom Community, a show about swingers.
The show is being shopped to cable networks, but while only a presentation has been film, it would definitely revolve around wife-swapping. And not the PG kind. "The world of swingers is mythologized in American pop culture but very few people outside of it have seen it," said producer Eli Frankel. "What we have seen on shows about swingers are primarily older hippies, fringe people who are a little bit dirty. What we found are elite groups of people in upscale communities who are good-looking and have money and access. That glossy version is much more interesting to watch."
Expect to see Bedroom Community on Skinemax sometime next year.
