Paul Rudd recently surprised a 12-year-old Colorado boy who went viral after his classmates refused to sign his yearbook.
Back in May, Brody Ridder’s mother Cassandra took to Facebook and posted a photo of her son’s yearbook, which was empty except for a couple of signatures and a note from a teacher.
“My poor son. Doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better,” Cassandra captioned a photo of his near-empty autograph page. “2 teachers and a total of 2 students wrote in his yearbook despite Brody asking all kinds of kids to sign it. My heart is shattered.”
Paul Rudd caught wind of what happened, and reached out to Brody via FaceTime.
As if that wasn’t enough to lift Brody’s spirits, Rudd, who plays Ant-Man in the Avengers franchise, also sent him a signed Ant-Man helmet and a handwritten letter.
“It was great talking to you the other day,” Rudd wrote in the note, which Cassandra shared on social media. “It’s important to remember that even when life is tough that things get better. There are so many people that love you and think you’re the coolest kid there is — me being one of them! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’re going to accomplish. Your pal, Paul.”
