Jamie Foxx needed some reassurance before signing up for another round of diapers, school runs and sleepless nights at 58. The Oscar-winning actor, who is expecting his third child and first with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp, admitted he initially had reservations about becoming a father again at this stage of his life.
Foxx addressed the decision during a joint interview with his eldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, while the pair promoted their game show Beat Shazam. “Being my age, I was a little on the fence,” he told E! News.
His outlook changed after a conversation with Al Pacino, who welcomed his son Roman in 2023 at age 83. “I said, ‘Al, you gonna be back in the drop-off line?’” Foxx recalled. “I said, ‘Aw man, shoot, I’m good.’”
The baby will be Foxx’s first child with Huckstepp, 31, whose pregnancy was confirmed in May. The couple was first publicly linked in August 2023 after being seen at a group dinner in Malibu. Reports indicated they separated in January 2025, but the two were photographed together again several months later. In July, Foxx and a visibly pregnant Huckstepp were seen leaving Crustacean in Beverly Hills as they prepared for the child’s arrival.
Foxx is already a father to two daughters from previous relationships. He shares Corinne, 32, with Connie Kline and Anelise Bishop, 17, with Kristin Grannis.
His first experience with fatherhood began in 1994, while Anelise arrived 15 years later. Foxx has described the emotional rewards of raising them, once saying that his favorite part of fatherhood is watching his children “light up” when he enters a room and helping them navigate problems he has experienced himself.
His relationship with both daughters has also become intertwined with his career and recovery from a major health crisis. Corinne, an actor and producer, co-hosts Beat Shazam with him and previously executive-produced his Netflix sitcom, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, which drew on their real-life relationship.
She also informed the public when Foxx experienced a medical emergency in April 2023, later revealed to be a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Anelise comforted him in the hospital by playing the guitar at his bedside.
“They said when she was playing, my vitals went down,” Foxx recalled, calling the instrument his “spiritual defibrillator.”
At the 2025 BET Awards, where he received the Ultimate Icon Honor, he thanked both of his daughters for helping to save his life.
