The first day of camp really can't get here soon enough. Last week Netflix gave us a nice little VHS-styled teaser for Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, but now we've got a trailer with some actual footage from the series. And it's exactly what you'd expect, which is a very good thing.
The series, which is actually a prequel to Wet Hot American Summer (even though all the actors from the movie are now 14 years older), is classic David Wain—total absurdity. Jon Hamm (yes, he's in this) karate fights with the guy from SVU, Elizabeth Banks uses another woman's (squishy-sounding?) diaphragm, Michael Showalter is probably 30-40 pounds heavier than his character was in the first movie, Bradley Cooper wears this leotard:
And Paul Rudd drops this A1 pickup line on Connie from The Mighty Ducks:
WOW. The Wet Hot series drops on July 31.
