After Coming Up through the Ranks, Neil Patrick Harris Will Host the Oscars
The Academy Awards tapped a likely source to host their next show.

Over the past five years, Neil Patrick Harris has hosted the Emmys twice and the Tonys four times. It was only a matter of time before the Oscars came calling—and they finally did today. NPH will host the Academy Awards on Feb. 22, according to Variety.
Harris is an obvious choice because of his hosting experience, but also because he's nearly impossible to hate. He's basically the male version of Ellen DeGeneres, who successfully hosted the Oscars last year with gags about pizza and selfies.
The bigger thing we need to talk about though: NPH is now on his own sort of EGOT watch. He's three-fourths of the way to a hosting EGOT, which isn't something to sneeze at. Just ask Tracy Jordan.
