Super Bowl ads took a big step forward this Sunday.
Well, maybe it wasn't a huge leap, but instead of scantily clad women fighting about Miller Light, this year's Super Bowl ads showcased strong women with empowering messages.
Here are the five Super Bowl ads that scored big for feminism:
Campbell's Chunky Soup
Budweiser
MINI USA
Pepsi
Britney Spears once danced through the decades, but Janelle Monáe changed what it means to be a Pepsi icon with the company's 2016 Super Bowl ad.
Monáe plays with stereotypes throughout the ad, first appearing in her signature tux, then dressed as Madonna while dancing to the icon's song "Express Yourself."
i could care less about the Super Bowl only excited for the halftime performances and a Janelle Monae commercial
