Today's our first look at Nash Edgerton’s new film Gringo. The trailer provides a promising look at the new bleak satire of the weed industry and what happens when a trip below the US-Mexico border goes sour.

David Oyelowo plays Harold Soyinka, a clueless businessman working for Charlize Theron’s weed business who must go to Mexico to manage a delivery. Soon after, Harold is captured by the cartel thanks to his boss’ dubious dealings. With appearances from Sharlto Copley, Amanda Seyfried, and Nash Edgerton’s brother Joel, the movie depicts Harold sparring with a mercenary, the DEA, and Mexican drug lords as he tries return home in one piece.

Oyelowo is best known for his lead role as Martin Luther King Jr. in Ava DuVernay’s Selma. The film follows Theron’s recent blockbuster Atomic Blonde and her feature in the latest Fast and Furious franchise The Fate of the Furious; it looks like her Gringo performance will be a good follow-up to a successful 2017. Meanwhile Seyfried plays a wide-eyed girl trying to help Harold, and Copley a morally-conflicted mercenary trying to make some money by capturing Harold himself. Check out the trailer above.

Gringo hits theaters March 9, 2018, courtesy of Amazon Studios and STX Entertainment.
