Several actors and actresses have recently spoken out against director and accused child molester Woody Allen. Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall have both decided to donate the salaries from their upcoming roles in Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund. Actress and former Allen collaborator Mira Sorvino spoke out about never working with the director again last week. With all these pledges, people turned their attention to Selena Gomez, who is also in the upcoming film, for not following the trend.

According to People, a source close to the actress says Gomez did make a large, anonymous donation to the Time’s Up Legal Defense fund that “far exceeded her salary for the film.” Gomez is an outspoken supporter of Time’s Up, and posted about the movement on her Instagram on Jan. 1, when it launched.

Before news of Gomez's donation, the star's mother, Mandy Teefy, spoke out against her daughter’s decision to work with Woody Allen. "I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn't click," Teefy wrote in response to a fan via Instagram.

In a since-deleted Facebook post, Teefy defended her criticism of Gomez, writing “I am a mom first. But, I am also my own person…I will never not speak my mind if I feel something is off until I die." Gomez and her mother have also been fighting over the singer's decision to start dating Justin Bieber again.
