Nazi Hunter Series From Jordan Peele Coming to Amazon

'The Hunt' follows a band of Nazi hunters living in New York City in the late '70s.

Amazon has picked up its second Jordan Peele-produced project, a drama series about Nazi hunters in the 1970s. The series, titled The Hunt, was given a straight-to-series order of its 10-episode first season, according to Variety.

The series follows a group of people called The Hunters living in 1977 in New York City. The eclectic Nazi-hunting group sets out on a bloody quest to defeat the hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials living around them. As the Nazis conspire to create a Fourth Reich in the US, the Hunters try to bring them to justice and ruin their future plans of genocide.

The story draws from real-life events and was created and written by David Weil. “When David Weil first shared The Hunt with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved,” Peele told Variety. “It's cathartic. It's noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world.”

Outside of this new project, Peele is staying busy. The announcement follows news that Amazon picked up a documentary series that examines the case of Lorena Bobbit, which Peele is also executive producing. The Oscar-winning Get Out director also recently announced the title of his next filmUs, billed as “a new nightmare," coming March 2019.
