Justin Bieber Opens Up About Hardest Parts of Marriage

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin started dating in 2014, then split in 2016. The pair reunited in 2018 and got married that year.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got married in September 2018, and they’ve experienced their fair share of relationship woes.

The couple have been isolating in their Canada home during COVID-19, and took this opportunity to film their new Facebook Watch show, The Biebers on Watch. In the 10-minute debut segment, they opened up about their marriage struggles while on a boat.

“There’s a lot of things I needed to work on,” Justin said, when asked what’s the hardest part about being married. “Forgiveness things, jealousy things, insecurities that I didn’t even realize I had until I chose to spend my life with you. I realized there were blind spots in my life that I didn’t realize I had.”

He continued, “That was really hard to work through those things. But I think, you know, when you choose to work through those things, I feel like now that I’ve worked through a lot of that stuff, you and I are closer than ever.”

The pair agreed, with Hailey adding that they have “had to work hard on our relationship,” but it’s been worth it.

“I think that pays off in a way where you just become so connected to each other, and so close and just solid with each other,” Hailey said. “Obviously, you’re my best friend. I think that’s the biggest payoff, you get a best friend to do everything with.”

Rumors that the two were dating began in 2014, though they broke up in 2016. They reunited in 2018 and were engaged that July. In September 2018, they wed in a private ceremony at a New York City courthouse, and subsequently had a public ceremony in 2019.

During their split, Justin dated Sofia Richie and had an on-and-off relationship with Selena Gomez.

Hailey also discussed how she started trusting him again when they reconciled. “Before we got together I had a lot of doubt. I didn’t even know what was happening in your life,” Hailey said, noting that their mutual friends supported her throughout the breakup.

“You know they would tell me that you were really working on yourself and you were doing really well,” Hailey said. “They were really impressed by how you were living your life and trying to keep to yourself. You weren’t on like—if I am allowed to say this—-you weren’t on any fuckboy shit anymore.”

There will be 11 more episodes of The Biebers on Watch, with new segments releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
