Kristin Cavallari, who is best known for appearing on both Laguna Beach and The Hills, caused controversy for her 9/11 Instagram post. As BuzzFeed reports, Cavallari posted a photo of herself with a caption that paid tribute to the anniversary of 9/11. "NYC for 24hrs," the caption read. "And what a time to be here... always remember."
Needless to say, people were confused by her need to relate a picture of herself to the World Trade Center tragedy. "You look fire but as a New Yorker, this really isn't the pic you should be posting to 'always remember,'" one comment read. The caption was in poor taste, and her followers were quick to let her know. Later, she edited the caption to read, "NYC for 24hrs."
Cavallari later deleted the part of the caption that referenced 9/11. Page Six reports that Cavallari fired her social media manager for the insensitive caption. Cavallari and her team reportedly sent the photo to her social media staffers, requesting the caption simply read "24 hours in New York City." The staffer, however, changed it to acknowledge the 18th anniversary of the terror attack. "There’s nothing comfortable about firing somebody," Cavallari explained. "I just fired my first person not that long ago and I honestly felt like I was going to throw up. I hate doing it. I haven’t had to do it that much — let’s just clear that up. But I have had to do a couple and it’s awful. It’s extremely difficult and I really want no part of it."
Earlier this year, Cavallari felt the need to tell the world that her husband, retired NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, helped her unclog her milk ducts. "I had major clogged ducts. Jay had to get them out for me, sucking harder than he’s ever sucked," she explained. "And you know what? Saved my life." What a wild 2019 it's been for Cavallari.
