Between Two Ferns: The Movie, featuring "celebrities you've heard of," is mercifully a real thing that's really happening. And now, we have a release date.

The feature-length adaptation of Zach Galifianakis' reliably hilarious talk show satire will hit Netflix Sept. 20. While the announcement from Funny or Die states only that the film stars "Zach Galfafananakakais, the ferns, and many more," a report from Deadlinenotes that a few more details were let loose at Thursday night's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman event in Los Angeles.

Galifianakis will, as expected, play the same exaggerated version of himself that's been warming cynics' hardened hearts on the web series for years now. The general setup revolves around Zach's character taking his crew on a road trip of sorts to marathon some top-tier celebrity interviews in an effort to "restore his reputation" after viral success, notably at the hands of Will Ferrell and Funny or die, threatens to ruin his image forever.

The most recent guests on the series version of Ferns were Cardi B and Jerry Seinfeld, whose own Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee narratively collided with the series last summer.
