Avengers: Endgame gave some of the biggest characters in the MCU a send-off while also setting the stage for some of the more minor players to step into the spotlight in the future. Among those with a potentially exciting future in Marvel movies is Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, who first made her appearance in Thor: Ragnarok.

Right at the end of the movie, Chris Hemsworth's Thor wishes Valkyrie a farewell while also passing the crown for New Asgard to her. Thor joins the Guardians of the Galaxy, while Valkyrie is left behind to lead their people. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on SiriusXM, directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that their touching heart-to-heart scene was originally longer and included a funny misread moment.

Speaking about moments cut from the film, the Russo brothers talked about the scene before Thor joins the Guardians. "In the endings, we felt we wanted to keep it a little tight, so we were looking for some stuff to squeeze there," Anthony Russo revealed at the 15:30 mark above. "She puts her hand on his shoulder and he sort of starts to lean in for a kiss and she goes, 'What are you doing?'"

Explaining the scene further, Anthony continued, "He goes, 'Oh I thought that you're...that touch.' She's like, 'Yeah, it's like a goodbye tap.' It was a really funny beat. We cut it." Joe Russo added, "It was cute, it was mostly improvised by the two of them." No word on whether fans will get to see Thor shoot his shot when the movie arrives on home formats and digital distribution later this year.

Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth are set to star opposite one another in Men in Black: International, which hits theaters June 14.
