After a nearly two-year wait, Game of Thrones returned this past Sunday for the eighth and final season. "Winterfell," the first episode of Season 8, effectively started setting up the building blocks for the remaining five episodes, and undoubtedly left us wanting more.
With episode 2 shrouded in mystery—we don’t even know the title yet—the hit HBO series decided to toss us a few bread crumbs by releasing 14 photos from this coming Sunday’s episode. Check them out below.
Fresh off of learning his true family lineage from Sam, Jon Snow appears to be still reeling from the revelation. Following his arrival at Winterfell where he was greeted by "old friend" Bran Stark, the lone image of Jaime Lannister seems to show him on trial, but for what exactly? We are also apparently getting the return of Gilly and Little Sam.
There are a few images showing Jon, Arya, Daenerys Targaryen, Jorah Mormont, among others situated around a table as they appear to be preparing for the eventual arrival of the Night King and the White Walkers. With episode 3 slated for one hour and 22 minutes—the longest in Season 8—this Sunday should be the episode where the final puzzle pieces are put in place before all hell breaks loose.
