Drake Bell Addresses 'Drake and Josh' Reboot Rumors: 'Josh and I Have Been Talking'

Bell told E! News that he and former co-star Josh Peck have something in store.

As Nickelodeon prepares to revive fan-favorite shows of yesteryear, rumors have swirled that Drake and Josh will also receive the reboot treatment—whispers that star Drake Bell recently put to rest.

During a red carpet appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards this week, the former Drake and Josh star confirmed to E! News that he and Josh Peck were reuniting on a new project; however, he insists they will not reprise their titular roles as Drake and Josh.

"Well, not exactly Drake and Josh, but Josh and I have been talking. He's come up with some cool ideas," The 32-year-old actor told E!'s Justin Sylvester. "And, yeah, I can't really go into exactly what we're doing, but it's going to be really cool and exciting, and I'm really excited to do it."

Bell acknowledged that there were many calls for the sitcom's reboot, but the idea didn't intrigue him or Peck.

"Everywhere we go we get, 'When's the reboot? When's the reboot? When are you guys coming back?'" he explained. "[...] Neither of us want to do a reboot, and so it had to be something cool, it has to be something creative. And so, no, honestly I never thought that we would be coming back [...] I think we've come up with something that's a little bit more creative and a little more exciting."

Stay tuned to see what the former co-stars have in store.

Bell and Josh began working together at the age of 12 when they appeared on Amanda Bynes' Nickelodeon sketch program The Amanda Show. Ten years after Drake and Josh's finale, the two had a fallout because Peck did not invite Bell to his wedding. The duo seemingly made up at the 2017 VMAs, where they were seen giving each other a hug.
