Method Man and Redman’s Absence in Sequel Sparks Petition From ‘How High’ Fans

MTV is developing a sequel to 2001's stoner comedy classic, 'How High,' without Method Man and Redman. A petition wants to change that.

In September, it was confirmed that MTV was developing a sequel to 2001's stoner comedy classic, How High. Unfortunately for fans of the original, the upcoming made-for-TV sequel won't be following Method Man and Redman's characters from the original, with Lil Yachty and Wild 'N Out's DC Young Fly landing the leading roles. Understandably, some fans aren't happy about the new cast.

Just recently, it was revealed that the two rappers wouldn't be reviving their roles as Silas and Jamal, despite both of them talking about a potential sequel for over a decade now. While a story focusing on a new cast doesn't sound like the worst idea, the fact they supposedly won't even be turning up in the film in cameos is extremely disheartening to hear.

As such, fans have already taken it upon themselves to launch a petition to get the two in the film. With over 2,000 signatures at the time of writing, it's unlikely MTV or the production companies involved in the film will take much notice of the petition, which calls the original star's absence from the sequel "a travesty and an injustice."

Filming has already begun for the sequel, so it remains unlikely that the two will be able to film a cameo before production wraps. The new movie will star Yachty and DC Young Fly, with Lil Baby, Alyssa Goss, DeRay Davis, Mary Lyn Rajskub, NeNe Leakes, Tiny Harris, Cynthia Bailey, and Shekinah Jo also making appearances.
