Here's How Those Easter Eggs Ended Up in 'Deadpool 2'

In this exclusive featurette from the 'Deadpool 2' Blu-ray, we take a look at how the minds behind 'Deadpool 2' got those Easter eggs in the film.

Later this month 20th Century Fox's "Super Duper $@%!#& Cut" of Deadpool 2 will be released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray (for those who need their fix right now, the digital release is already available). While it not only boasts an extended cut of the film, it also comes with special features and additional content, including the featurette we're sharing exclusively, which takes a look at how all of those awesome Easter Eggs ended up in Deadpool 2.

As Deadpool 2 screenwriter and executive producer Paul Wernick states, the reason for the Easter Eggs is due to the massive, hardcore comic book-reading audience who are coming to these films with years of knowledge "analyzing each frame." That attention to detail might be caught on the first viewing, but the beauty is truly in repeat viewings, especially with Deadpool 2, where wall-to-wall humor and action might mean you miss some of the sneakier references and sight gags thrown in.

Bill Corson, who works on makeup design for the film, says that Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds might be the one who comes up with a lot of the references and Easter Eggs, and that "every frame" of Deadpool 2 has something in it for the diehards. He also speaks on how some of the Easter Eggs were set up in the first film, and get paid off in Deadpool 2.

Check out the featurette up top, and be sure to cop Deadpool 2's Super Duper $@%!#& Cut on Blu-ray when it arrives Aug. 21.
