Cardi B and Jerry Seinfeld Star in Zach Galifianakis' Surprise 'Between Two Ferns' Return

Zach Galifianakis’ hilariously awkward interview series 'Between Two Ferns' is back with its first episode since 2016, featuring guests Jerry Seinfeld and Cardi B.

Zach Galifianakis’ hilariously awkward interview series Between Two Ferns is back with its first episode since 2016. We last saw Galifianakis chatting with Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election season, and now out of the blue he’s returned with two famous guests: Jerry Seinfeld and Cardi B.

Galifianakis kicks off the interview with Seinfeld alone, and it's quickly apparent the awkwardly combative nature of the show hasn't changed one bit. Zach takes several digs at the Jerry's career, first calling Seinfeld a "real launching pad for whites."

Seinfeld likely came on the show to promote the next season of his Netflix series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffeeanother series Galifianakis insults. “You have Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, James Corden has Carpool Karaoke. What’s next in lazy, car-based non-comedy?” he asks.

There’s also a quick appearance from Wayne Knight, aka Newman, before Galifianakis gets a “better guest” to come on set. This time the show's iconic red button prompts the sound of “Bodak Yellow," and Cardi B walks out looking fabulous, receiving a warm introduction from Galifianakis. He then hands the rapper a present for her baby as Seinfeld sits on a milk crate beyond the ferns. “You are special,” the host tells Cardi during her extremely short visit. “But the most important thing is that you’re relevant.”

She walks off without acknowledging Seinfeld, prompting the comic to call it "the opposite of what happened with Kesha."
