While it's filled with funny goofs (like Deadpool failing to cut Cable's bullets in half with his katanas), it's the crossover jokes getting the attention in this one. Josh Brolin, who plays Cable here and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity Warassumed Deadpool would crack a joke about the overlap. And he was right. "Pump the hate-breaks Thanos," says Deadpool in the trailer.

Of course, the Merc with a Mouth couldn't just joke about Marvel, he had to go after DC too. "You're no fucking hero. You're just a clown, dressed up as a sex toy," says Cable. "So dark, you sure you're not from the DC Universe?" quips Deadpool to his time-traveling foe.

After much speculation on who's in the X-Force team, we finally get an official introduction: Bedlam, an energy manipulator played by Terry Crews, Shatterstar, an alien with super strength portrayed by Lewis Tan, and Zazie Beetz's Domino, badass with powers of extreme luck. Oh, and Peter, who "just saw the ad" and decided to join the team. There's also reappearances from Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Colossus, and the GOAT taxi-driver, Dopinder. It's still unconfirmed who Shioli Kutsuna will play but fans speculate the purple-haired mutant, who's been appearing in the trailers, is either Surge or Psylocke.

As for the mission of the team, Deadpool gives clear instructions: intercept the convoy and watch out for Cable. Seems simple enough.

The Ryan Reynolds–starring film arrives in theaters on May 18. Catch the trailer above.
