Deadpool was not afraid to make jokes about anyone and anything in the 2016 Ryan Reynolds–led film. At one point they even made fun of Reynold's own failed stint at Green Lantern in the 2011 superhero movie.

And since Josh Brolin is playing Cable in Deadpool 2 and Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (and subsequently Avengers 4), he's sure the Merc with the Mouth won't be shying away from references to his Marvel persona.

"I can’t imagine there’s not going to be any. [Laughs] I’ll put it that way," said Brolin in an interview with EW. "I’m up here right now in snowy Vancouver doing reshoots for Deadpool. Given that it’s a satire of all superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, how can you not?"

He's absolutely right. Although Deadpool is a 20th Century Fox property, Reynolds has proved to be able to cleverly include easter eggs to Marvel Cinematic Universe films. They've even made cracks at staples in pop culture with spoofs of Bob Ross and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Along with shedding info on Thanos references in Deadpool, Brolin also gave insight on the villain who will give the Avengers trouble in the upcoming film. It turns out Thanos won't be looking to capture the love and attention of Death as he did in The Infinity Gauntlet, which is one of the comic book series the film is based on. Instead, he'll be looking to get rid of half of the universe to deter there being too many people.

"You think of overpopulation and killing half the universe in order to save the other half and all this kind of stuff. You have this struggle watching him," said Brolin. "It’s this love-hate thing, you know? So I don’t know...Who in our society do we love and hate?"

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 27. Three weeks later, we'll likely see Thanos jokes land in Deadpool 2 as it's set to be released on May 18.
