The pieces for the Gal Gadot-led Wonder Woman 2 are slowly but surely coming together. The latest announcement about the anticipated film, set in the Cold War era circa the 1980s, is that Narcos star Pedro Pascal will be joining the cast in an unrevealed but "key" role, THR reports.
As previously announced, Kristen Wiig is another Wonder Woman 2 cast addition and will play the villain Cheetah. Details surrounding Wonder Woman 2 are currently sparse. However, director Patty Jenkins has teased that the second installment will be “totally different” from the first film.
Before Nacros, Pascal was best known for playing the fearless and vengeful Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of HBO's hit show Game of Thrones. He's also booked roles in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, as well as the forthcoming Equalizer sequel and J.C. Chandor's Triple Frontier.
The first Wonder Woman, which was also directed by Patty Jenkins, got some stellar reviews from critics and audience members alike. It maintains a solid 92% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and has an 88% audience score.
Wonder Woman 2 is slated to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
