Kim Kardashian isn't one to shy away from a provocative photo or two, as evidenced by the newest photo set she posted on Monday. Indeed, she’s used to getting flack for such photos—and while it’s often because she’s a mother, this time it’s because of her pretty cut-and-dry appropriation.
Kim wore her hair in beaded cornrows, dubbing them “Bo Derek Braids.” Rather than acknowledge the culture she was borrowing from, Kim credited supermodel Bo Derek, who wore similar braids—called Fulani Braids—in the 1979 movie 10.
Black Twitter certainly wasn’t impressed by Kim’s cultural appropriation, and neither was one of her oldest frenemies, Lindsay Lohan. After Perez Hilton shared a photo of Kim’s braids on Instagram, Lohan commented, “I am confused,” to which Kim replied, “You know what’s confusing…..your sudden foreign accent.”
Kim’s response referred to the odd accent Lohan abruptly picked up in 2016, which the actress explained as, “A mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn. I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French, can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian, and Arabic.”
Soon after Kim responded to Lohan, Kim continued to drag the Parent Trap star by posting another photo to Instagram with the caption, “Hi, can I get zero fucks please, thanks.”
