When Steven Avery, aka the subject of Netflix's binge-worthy Making A Murderer series, was denied a new trial in October, Avery's attorney Kathleen Zellner filed a 54-page motion she hoped would get Avery the new trial many feel he deserves. It looks like that request has been denied.
WISN reports that Circuit Court Judge Angela Sutkiewicz denied Avery's request for a new trial, stating in their order that "a Motion to Reconsider is not the appropriate forum for the court to consider new arguments based on a defendant’s additional arguments for a new trial."
After the denial was handed down, Zellner hit Twitter.

The court's order also states that "In its numerous filings after October 6th, the defense submits a substantial amount of what it calls newly discovered evidence. That characterization is incorrect."
As of right now, there's no word from Zellner if they will be resubmitting a request for a new trial for Avery, who is currently serving life without possibility of parole after being convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Teresa Halbach.
