Deadpool has changed the superhero movie game—in part because of its R rating—while setting box office records, raking in $135 million for its opening weekend. Adding to its list of accomplishments Deadpool has evidently already inspired other superhero movies to take the leap with Wolverine 3 rumored to be aiming for an R-rating. To borrow words from a character crushed by the aforementioned box office success: Deadpool, he's so hot right now. That's why a petition has been made to get the Merc With a Mouth to bring his talents, like his comedy, to an avenue in dire need: Saturday Night Live.

The Change.org petition has been signed by over 13,000 supporters out of a goal of 15,000. Created by Andrew Stege, as Nerdist reports, the petition partially reads: "I have not watched a full episode of SNL in years because I just haven't been able to stomach an entire episode, but having Deadpool host, star, and be all over the episode would get the DVR set so I can watch it again and again!!! Not to mention, depending on the musical guest, how awesome would it be to have some Deadpool interpretive dancing while the musical guest was playing?"

Of course everyone knows Deadpool's "hard R" rating would need to be toned for SNL, but it'd make for great programming nonetheless. The petition has been met with enthusiastic support with one comment from a fan reading: "If deadpool hosted SNL, it would literally make me wanna go and slap my mom....in...the....FACE! I love Deadpool."

Should the powers that be agree to this, because how can they not, it would be the second time ever that Reynolds returns to host SNL. He hosted once in 2009.

Reynolds recently dogged the abysmal (so I've heard) Green Lantern, so he'd definitely be up for making fun of it via a skit. Just throwing it out there. And if this doesn't happen anytime soon, maybe it'll be something to think about for when the Deadpool sequel is released.
