Sadly in today’s climate, major stations being shut down by police isn’t that unusual. If it’s a bomb threat, or a terrorist threat, or just a fire, that’s fair enough. But just to arrest one single drug dealer?

At around 3pm yesterday, British Transport Police evacuated hundreds of commuters and closed platforms.

One man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Armed BTP officers attended the mainline platforms at King’s Cross rail station shortly after 3pm {Thursday} to meet incoming trains to that location. Some platforms were closed while this activity took place. At approximately 4.15pm, a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply of a Class B drug. Enquires are ongoing.”
