Doomsday, the DC supervillain from Krypton who is probably best known for killing Superman in the 1992 storyline The Death of Superman, is going to appear in Batman v. Supermanaccording to a report from "El Mayimbe," the scoop master formerly of Latino Review (who's now branching out on his own)

El Mayimbe, or Umberto Gonzalez, appeared on the Shanlian on Batman podcast recently, saying that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) will be the main villain in the film, with Doomsday providing some muscle.

Comicbook.com (beware of spoilers) has previously speculated that Michael Shannon might play the mindless killing machine, and it's unclear how much the film version of Doomsday will deviate from the comic book version of his origin, but it seems like it might be quite a bit different.

It's not the first time there has been talk of bringing Doomsday to the big screen. The ill-fated Superman Lives starring Nicolas Cage as Superman would have featured the villain.
