The Wolverine sequel has been sitting on a March 3, 2017 release date for more than a year, but more news about the sequel has since been scarce. Yesterday director James Mangold broke up the silence with a muted announcement that the third Wolverine film will begin filming in early 2016. He randomly replied to a fan on Twitter and didn't even start off the tweet with a period to inform the masses. Very very sneaky.
@R_0_B_89 early next year.

Hugh Jackman will return with Mangold for the film written by David James Kelly, who's also penning the Daredevil reboot. In the meantime we'll have no shortage of Marvel films.
