Obama: Americans Should Go to the Movies

President Obama said in an interview that Americans should "go to the movies" despite terrorist threats.

Don't let the hackers stop you from going to the movies.  That was the message from President Barack Obama to the American people during an interview with ABC News anchor David Muir on Wednesday. 


"Well, the cyberattack is very serious. We're investigating it. We're taking it seriously. You know, we'll be vigilant. If we see something that we think is serious and credible, then we'll alert the public. But for now, my recommendation would be that people go to the movies."

Obama was speaking after reports that federal investigators have determined that North Korea is responsible for the hacks that leaked Sony employees' private emails and information in retaliation for the film The Interview. After the hacker group responsible made threats of violence against theaters planning to show The Interview beginning Christmas day, major theater chains pulled out, leading to Sony pulling the plug on the whole release.
