Authorities in Australia say eight children between the ages of 18 months and 15-years-old were stabbed to death this morning.
According to the Guardian, police found the children along with a 34-year-old woman inside of a Cairns home around 11:30 a.m. The Guardian adds that the woman, who suffered stab wounds to the chest, is the mother of seven of the children. Police were reportedly summoned after the children's 20-year-old brother made the initial discovery.
Though few specifics have been released, the woman survived the attack and is said to be assisting police in the investigation.
