Is there ever a right time for a “Clemson Cripmas” frat party? Probably not. But this seems especially bad.

The Clemson chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon has been suspended following pictures surfacing on social media yesterday that show off the aforementioned “Clemson Cripmas” party, which took place at the frat house over the weekend. Particularly in contrast to the Ferguson, Mo. and Eric Garner protests happening on campus at the same time, this is a pretty bad look for Clemson and is likely to get the event’s masterminds in a whole lot of trouble.

University President Jim Clements released a statement yesterday where he only sort of condemned the party, saying that “Last night's ‘Cripmas’ party, which the university did not sanction, raised more concerns about the campus climate. Clemson is better than this.”

One would hope that Clemson is "better than this," but with weak statements like Clements’ it’s not hard to see why people think they can get away with putting on these types of events.
