During an appearance on Sunday's Meet the Press, Sony attorney David Boies said the studio still plans to release The Interview. Fans of masturbation jokes and exploding heads can collectively release a little of their freedom-of-speech breaths. The Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy will find its way to willing eyeballs sometime in the future.

“Sony only delayed this,” Boies said. “Sony has been fighting to get this picture distributed. It will be distributed. How it’s going to be distributed, I don’t think anybody knows quite yet. But it’s going to be distributed.” Now that's a rallying cry! We don't know how, we don't know when, but we will!

But now that The Interview has already won the hearts and minds of many, Meet the Press asked Boies if Sony was leaning on the label of "terrorism" to assist with box office, whether it be theatrical or digital, whenever (and however) it's released. Boise replied, “I’m not debating whether it ought to be called ‘criminal,’ ‘vandalism,’ ‘terrorism.’ What we know is that that was a state-sponsored attack on the privacy of an American corporation and its employees."

Boies also mentioned that while Sony was thankful for President Obama saying that the U.S. would "respond proportionally" to the cyberattack that the FBI confirmed came from North Korea, he thought the rest of the President's comments were similar to "victim shaming" Sony for not coming to the President soon enough. Let this be a lesson to all corporations that have a major presence in America: the government's got your back. Duh.
