When hologram Tupac performed at Coachella in 2012 we knew the future had arrived. Ever since the music industry has continued to adopt the technology, from the Michael Jackson performance earlier this year at the Billboard Music Awards to the upcoming Country Music Awards. And in between we've had no shortage of speculation and rumors about digital performances.
Jimmy Kimmel is about to do the impossible Nov. 5 and host two shows at the same damn time. With the benefit of a hologram Kimmel will be in two places at once: in Los Angeles for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and in Nashville for the CMAs.
In addition to the technology provided by Hologram USA, Kimmel will use cross-pollination to do the two jobs at once. His second interview on his show will feature a CMA winner and be shown in Nashville via hologram. Afterward Florida Georgia Line will do a performance in Nashville that'll be projected to Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s outdoor concert stage in Hollywood.
No wonder Kimmel has a history of being fired from radio. Holograms are much more his speed.
