A local news station in Detroit used its helicopter to get a peak at a Metropolis set in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it is a wreck.
Based on this, we can infer that either the city is going to get thrashed again, or the events of Batman v Superman pick up where Man of Steel left off, after Superman and Zod used the city's skyscrapers like WWE wrestlers use the top rope.
Through the destruction we get a first look at the Wayne Financial logo, and a bunch of smashed Metropolis cop cars.
