You may have missed out on the ’80s TV show Manimal, in which Dr. Jonathan Chase utilized his power to change into animals in order to fight crime, given the show only lasted a whopping eight episodes, but now it’s getting a second life.
Sony Pictures animation is going forward with a comedic film adaptation of the series with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) producing.
“I think it’s right down our alley, it’s what we do,” said McKay. “It’s tongue-in-cheek and has an action component, but overall it’s a comedy.”
There’s no doubt the movie is going to be ridiculously hilarious given the Ferrell McKay tag team.
