X-Men: Days of Future Past producer Lauren Shuler Donner has confirmed in an interview with Total Film that Channing Tatum will be joining the cast for the next film in the role of Gambit. Asked why Tatum would be a good fit, Shuler Donner said that “he’s a rogue…he can handle the action, and he’s got a really good heart.”
While Tatum has long been rumored to want a role in the movie series, this confirmation of yet another star means the X-Men universe is only going to continue to expand. While it is yet to be confirmed whether he’d be part of an ensemble or leading his own film, Shuler Donner indicated that she’d like Tatum to get his own solo movie.
