If it seems like the latest trend in movies is taking classic books from your childhood and putting them on the big screen, that’s because it is. This August we’ll get the adaptation of Lois Lowry’s The Giver, and now we have a trailer for a book from even earlier in your life: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
This Disney-produced film stars Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner as the titular character’s parents, and Dylan Minnette and Kerris Dorsey as his older siblings. Whereas in the book it’s just Alexander suffering, the film version sees his whole family endure an unimaginable number of mishaps. Comedy ensues, at least in theory.
