According to a lawsuit, a man in Staten Island was killed while trying to install a Murphy bed

The New York Post reports that the suit was filed by the family of 32-year-old Joseph Annunziato, who was tragically killed in Dec. 2012 while trying to assemble the queen-sized bed he purchased from Manhattan's Murphy Bed Express.

The bed, which attaches to the wall and can be folded up, was in the down position when it suddenly snapped up, crushing Annunziato's skull and severing his spine. According to the lawsuit, the store displayed negligence by selling what family attorney Elias Fillas called a "defective bed" without "instructions, warnings and all pieces necessary to properly and safely assemble the bed."

Annunziato's family is seeking an unspecified amount of damages, and the Post adds that a store manager denies knowledge of the lawsuit.
