22. McGinley's Golden Ace Inn
Address: 2533 East Washington St.
McGinley's was opened at the end of Prohibition by an Irish immigrant couple with no knowledge of the bar business. They took some time observing beer preferences and ran the place the best possible way—simply. It's stayed in the McGinley family ever since, serving cheap but delicious food (the cheeseburger, voted the best in Indianapolis, costs a whopping $3.50) and cold beer. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
