Bioshock revolutionized gaming with its seamless integration of RPG mechanics with shooter gameplay and, more importantly, its unique setting and literary themes. Bioshock 2 may have failed to recapture the mystery of the first due to its lack of surprises, but the third will likely avoid that particular pitfall with its new setting high in the sky and 50-odd years prior. And the new antagonist, the terrifying mechanical Songbird, will certainly rival Big Daddies.
If you only play one game next year—on second thought, no, we're not going to fall back on that tired trope. But, well, you know what we were going to say.
We know there are plenty of other games that deserved to be on this list, so go ahead and tell us all the reasons we're wrong in the comments or on Twitter.
