Anybody who goes to see a Michael Bay movie should expect two things: Gratuitous cleavage shots and dozens, if not hundreds, of things blowing up. In the same way Picasso worked with paints and Wagner worked in music, Michael Bay's creative outlet is the art of the explosion.
For some people, the sheer amount of destruction is overwhelming, but the team at Frankenspace has done the dirty work and created an infographic that breaks down the amount of explosions that Bay has used over the years. The total combined number averages out to over one explosion for every minute of film that Bay has put on screen.
You’ll also notice how the Transformers movies blow the explosion totals from his other films out of the water. In fact, the total number of explosions in Dark of the Moon makes Pearl Harbor look like an indie-drama by comparison. Enjoy!
