Staring down Bane in a dark alley is certainly not on our bucket list.

Even though the world will finally see the release of an Avengers movie this summer, along with a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, neither of those comic book flicks can come close to the anticipation that we are all feeling for the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. And while much of the project is still shrouded in secrecy, Super Hero Hype has just posted some exclusive scans from this month's issue of Empire Magazine to whet our appetite for the movie.

These scans give us perhaps the best look at Bane that we have had so far. Tom Hardy seems to have virtually disappeared into his role as Batman's highly-intelligent, muscle-bound adversary, and it looks like he might be able compete with the terror and intensity that Heath Ledger brought to The Dark Knight.

There is no telling how much different Nolan's version of Bane will be from the original comic book character, but from everything we have seen so far, it's safe to assume that there have been some pretty big changes made. But trust us, this is one of those rare instances where that is actually a good thing.
