3. Up Close and Personal
As much as we love a good sniper rifle (and a good headshot, n00b!), there's definitely something to be said for in-your-face action. Not a lot of first-person games pull that off successfully (we can only think of two that do: Condemned and Chronicles of Riddick) but The Darkness II makes the attempt to throw down with some nice old-fashioned hand-to-hand—er, hand-to-tentacle— violence. Sure, you may have those pistols, but the real fun of the game is letting those demonic moray eels on your shoulders chow down on your enemies.
