So far, 2011 seems to be the Year of the Shooter, and the latest news on the genre comes from Epic Games. We already know that Gears of War 3 is coming out on September 20, but it’s the timing of the multiplayer beta that's been keeping fanboys up at night. Well, they can finally put away the Lunesta; Epic has revealed that the beta will be available in mid-April (and likely a bit earlier for Bulletstorm Epic Edition owners). The demo will feature three new versus modes and four new maps. We know two of the maps are Thrashball and Checkout, while the final two maps will be determined by polls on Epic's Facebook page.
