The group behind “Semi-Charmed Life” has just covered Beyoncé‘s “Mine,” because the year 2015 is a strange and occasionally great place. On the heels of their new album announcement (their first in six years) Third Eye Blind is attempting to bully their way back into relevance with the most clicky cover choice possible: Queen Bey.
Luckily, it’s nowhere near as basic as you might imagine. Bey’s sparse ballad gets the warm, acoustic treatment, completed by a cozy new video (presumably a dedication to frontman Stephan Jenkins’ beloved/friends). Check it out above, and who knows—maybe this is a year for pop-rock comebacks (…).
