The mentality that one should have going into a brand new year is a mentality that assumes that anything is possible. Evidently, this is what the gentlemen from Vampire Weekend, Danny Brown, Heems, and Despot adopted, as evidenced by this remix of the Souls Of Mischief-referencing “Step.” Unexpectedly, Vampire Weekend’s mellow, even ethereal melody doesn’t take away from the verses of the three rappers. It’s one of those things that’ll make you go, “huh?” initially, but by the end of the remix, it all makes sense.
