According to Screen Daily, a new Prince documentary will arrive in 2017. Prince: R U Listening? will focus on the legendary artist's humble beginning and quick rise to stardom.

Prince's story will be told through interviews with his peers, friends, and family, including Billy Idol, Bono, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, and Sheila E. For Prince's early years, the film will look into Prince's relationship with Dez Dickerson and André Cymone. The former joined Prince's touring band in 1979 and left in 1999, and the latter played in bass' band Grand Central in the '70s, when Prince was a teenager, and toured with The Purple One until 1981.

The documentary will be produced by Michael Kirk, who's best known for writing, producing, and directing PBS' Frontline. While no date has been revealed yet, Screen Daily reports that it will be released sometime within the second quarter of 2017.

Recently, the very first posthumously released song by Prince was shared as a part of an upcoming compilation, Prince 4ever. Listen to "Moonbeam Levels" here, and stay tuned for more updates on the new documentary.
