Alright, so maybe this was an unexpected choice, but we’re certainly not complaining. During their recent visit to the BBC Live Lounge, Arctic Monkeys performed their rendition of Drake‘s meant-to-be-played-at-weddings single, “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”
Knowing the UK band’s usual raucous style, you wouldn’t think that they’d be able to capture the nuances in young Aubrey’s delicate single, but Alex Turner and Co. manage to highlight the uplifting quality of the original. Plus, there’s something about Turner singing “‘Cause you’re a good girl / and you know it” that just sounds and feels so right. Listen to Arctic Monkeys’ take on “Hold On, We’re Going Home” below.
