Gorillaz Co-Creator Jamie Hewllet Confirms Band's Return

None

Despite the fact that Damon Albarn told NME earlier last year that he could put out a Gorillaz record at any time, the fate of the collective looked uncertain due to Albarn and co-creator Jamie Hewllet’s seemingly strained relationship. But now, Gorillaz fans finally have something a little more concrete to get excited over.

Hewllet shared sketches of Murdoc and Noodle on his Instagram the other day, and, according to Revolt, confirmed via in a comment that, “Yes. Gorillaz returns.” This will be the follow-up to their 2011 project, The Fall, and marks the beginning of Gorillaz’s Phase 4 (each “phase” consists of a few releases, and is dictated by the time between them, hence the changes in the illustrations). Take a look at sketches of Murdoc and Noodle above.
