With only two releases under his belt, Ireland’s Talos has already managed to develop an arrestingly beautiful, cinematic sound that makes him one to watch in a sea of Soundcloud experimenters tinkering with different genres.
As befits music of movie-caliber, Talos’ second single “Bloom” gets a stunning visual treatment at the hands of Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson of Feel Good Lost (who also shot and directed Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” video). “Bloom” drives forward a narrative started in Talos’ haunting “Tethered Bones” video, an exploration of Stockholm Syndrome. Equally chilling and gorgeously shot, “Bloom” hammers home Talos’ music as emotionally affecting and filmic—the sort of work that should be scoring a feature sooner than later.
