Three months after its release, “Coloring” receives a stark, beautifully shot video to accompany a song that, as Garrett put it in November, “is about confronting something that will shatter as soon as you touch it.” Structured largely around Garrett’s solitary performance, the video builds to an unnerving, abstract climax. It’s a wise, pretty visual treatment that keeps things simple and allows the power of the song itself to remain the centerpiece.
